Positive change
We are an energetic, passionate group of local residents designing and delivering initiatives that help reduce carbon, recycle, repair, educate, and tackle plastic pollution.
We aim to be an empowering and enabling force, inspiring, informing, and supporting our community in Tenterden and neighbouring communities across East Sussex and Kent.
We work collaboratively with local authorities, schools, businesses, and non-profits. Together, we are creating the change we want to see.
Our Projects
Pop-up repair cafe
We have created a buzzing monthly pop-up repair shop and cafe in the heart of Tenterden. Our skilled volunteers provide free repairs for electricals, clothing, toys, bikes, ceramics, clocks, watches, and more. Repair helps the environment by reducing waste, emissions and the demand for the planet’s finite resources.
We have inspired a wave of repair initiatives in Rye and Rolvenden, which have amplified our positive impact.
Got a question about an item you’d like to have repaired? Get in touch.
Project partners: Tenterden Town Council & Women’s Institute.
Repair workshops
Many young people are growing up with the belief that when something breaks, it should simply be discarded and replaced. As a result, they often lack the confidence, skills, and experience needed to carry out even basic repairs.
We are addressing this challenge by equipping and empowering local young people with practical repair skills, alongside the STEM principles that underpin how and why things work.
Building on a successful pilot last year, we are delivering repair workshops and educational assemblies at Tenterden Junior School this spring.
Our hands-on sessions are designed to spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and foster a mindset that sees repair as an opportunity rather than an obstacle.

Litter picking
We are scoping a new litter picking project in Tenterden.
Litter picks are a powerful way to address the negative impacts of litter on local wildlife and ecosystems and make a visible, positive change.
If the project goes ahead, our aim is to make litter picks welcoming, social, and family-friendly events - bringing people together around a shared sense of purpose, and supporting mental and physical wellbeing through connection and gentle physical activity.
